Designer
I spent my internship at Tension Graphics working on a title for the Sony PSP. The main concern during this project was our limited experiance working on
not only a platform other than the PC, but also with the new controls, screen and of course SONYs own requirements.
The result of our labor also ended up beeing nominated for "best mobile game" during the Swedish Game Awards 2011. The basic premise of the game was decided by the lead game designer. From there on I and said game designer worked out the core mechanics, behavior for both enemy and player units. I also worked on which puzzle elements the levels should entail to ensure us some room for variation in level design (since we planed on having several levels) yet still be possible to implement for our programmers. We decided on using a basic grid system, splitting each level in 5x15 areas. This modular system enabled us to both quickly and easily make mock levels as well as add the levels into the game without the direct need to bother programmers. |
Since it is of utmost importance that the puzzles in each level is beatable, and that they can't be circumvented (not easily anyway) alot of my time went into QA. Using a particle editing tool developed by one of our programmers I was responsible for creating all the effects in the game and implement the particle effects used in the levels, a challenge I enjoyed since the systems resources was very limited and one needed to think creativily to get as good a "bang for buck" ratio possible, I was also responsible for the storyline and most dialogue and thus is to blame for the generally unsubtle humor. 2D Artist

About Ambassador Kane
Ambassador Kane is a spinning plate type platform puzzle game for PSP Minis. As chief of security you need to keep Kane safe
and sound on his way to a very important meeting, building a path for him to the exit with your trusty
construction robots - a stair robot and a teleporter robot.
Be prepared to pull up your sniper rifle when the heat picks up - deadly laser fences must be shot open in order for the ambassador to not fry himself, and enemies attacking him must quickly be eliminated. |
